Who are the Recipients?
Each Bolivian family that is approached by HFCBolivia or approaches HFCBolivia for help is evaluated according to their needs: families that are in extreme poverty with little or no resources are participants in our programs. Some of the criteria for determining need or in some cases even an emergency are the following:
- Children working because they don't have the funds to go to school
- Children exposed to domestic violence
- Children who have single parents
- Indigenous families with 3 or more school-age children
Many children that do not have funds to go to school are on the streets doing a variety of odd jobs: selling candies for a living, helping people to carry bags at the market, working as nannies, or washing cars, often for very little amounts of money. In some cases we may help children who are doing well in school,
but still need some form of help, including after-school tutoring.
